The Center for Digital Arts is an art institute in Waltham, MA, specialized in digital media. A vivid, lively, and modern-looking logo was what they wanted as their new brand identity. Since they were a design institute teaching the core ideas of design, I looked for what would be the core of design. What I ultimately found were a circle and triangle, the fundamental shape of everything. The symbol in the logo represents the initial “CDA”, and the triangle and circle at the same time.
The logo can be transformed into infinite number of variations according to purposes. As long as the “C” and “A” shapes keep their original positions, it is available to replace “D” shape with a different image. Below are the example variations of the logo. Although the “D” shapes are removed, they still remind viewers of the original symbol of the institute.
